534 Marine Biologists

There are so many amazing, wonderful things to discover on the beach. I wonder what these girls have found.
The waves were originally very choppy behind them and they were on rocks and seaweed. But I simplified their surroundings to keep the focus on the girls. SOLD

533 Princess and Daddy

I saw this scene at Willow's Beach and just had to paint it.  It was just so sweet. I love to watch guys with their kids. This guy looks like her wish is his command.

532 The Critique

Sold
This is from a recent outing with some artist friends of mine.  I tried to keep it down to just a few major shapes. Look at that body language. I won't say any more on that lest I have to answer to it.

531 Sand Flowers

I did this as a painting challenge with DPW. It was from a photo reference taken on an overcast day. Also around midday so not much shadows. Not necessary, the saturated colours of the ladies stuff contrasts so well against the low saturated colour of the sand. I like the composition!

This painting is for sale for $49. Buy

527 Victoria Carriage Horse

I really like these gentle horses. They are so gentle. I always stop to pat them and say hi. They recognize me and their noses quiver when they are happy to see me. They are best friends to humans just like dogs and cats. For sale for $49. To buy or just to have a closer look click here

526 Ogden Point Scene

sold
This scene is from this morning at Ogden Point. The first two are Seaspan Tugboats and the yellow one is the Pilot Boat. They're the traffic team, escorting bigger boats in and out of Ogden Point, keeping them safe from the rocks under the water.  They are cool to paint too.

It's a busy dock too. I had almost finished the painting with just the first tug boat and the yellow one when the middle white tug comes and parks right in between. Really glad it did. It broke up the seawall in the background and improved the composition.

525 Zoom Zoom

Another Willows Beach scene.
Sorry about the glare. Lately when I photograph my paintings outdoors they get totally blue and the colours are washed out. I ended up photographing this indoors just to get the turquoise car to look turquoise.
This painting is for sale for $49.  To buy with PayPal click here

524 Engineers

Another Victoria beach scene. There is so much building happening on the beach. It's not just kids either. Yesterday I saw a group of men do this exact activity. Once they got the pole erected they then played a game throwing stones at it till it fell over.
This original oil painting is on auction at a starting bid of just $49. To bid or just to take a close up look click here

522 Right There!

Sold
Here's the Coppertone Kid and sidekick. Wouldn't surprise me if that little blond runs a refinery someday. What a coordinator. I watched her dig down to china and build a mountain on Willow's Beach.
This painting is on auction.
