608 Pear

SOLD
This is one of those little pears. I bought three to paint in various configurations but you won't see three together as this one's going in a fresh chutney for tonight's curry. Pears are just so pretty. They make great paintings no matter what. Sorry about all the glare on that dark back ground. It doesn't look that streaky in person.

607 Eggs and cherry Tomatoes

When I paint something I always feel a little funny about eating it afterwards. It's like I sort of start developing a relationship with the subject. Didn't stop me from frying them up and devouring them. I'm such a wild thing.

606 Snowberries, Watercolour 8x8

Okay, I paint snowberries a lot. There is something kind of magical about them in the way they seem to dance mid air on their thin branches. You'd almost expect to see a fairy peeking out from amongst them.  Also, I prefer to paint what I have available to me free rather than go to the store to buy it. And during the winter months snowberries are all around just dying to be painted. Well, I have a license to paint what ever I want anyways.

605 Snow Berries

Sold
I love snowberries. There's a bush right by my walkway. The berries that managed to cling to the branches are now shrivelling and turning sienna. All the bushes energy is going towards the new sprouting yellow green leaves. Spring is in the air.

604 Tulip's Last Day

click to bid
I never throw away tulips till all the petals fall off. I love the way they look right up till the end. These lasted a week since I bought them.

I haven't completed many paintings the last couple weeks due to a pinched nerve. Getting better now and I think the time off might give my work a new direction. Spring time is so beautiful here It's so exciting to see the fresh new colors of blossoms and longer daylight. (There is a seagull nest on my roof and one of the parents likes to sit on my railing watching me paint through the window).

602 Tulips in a Jar

Sold
I picked up these tulips for a demo I did this morning. So far I got three paintings out of them, counting the demo. This is the first one.

601 Dandelion

Sold
Dandelions are the first real sign of spring. (And one of the most under-appreciated flowers). You've got to paint them fast as they don't last in a vase.

600 Leaf Skeletons and Berries

Spring is just around the corner here in Victoria. Gardens are being raked and pruned. Here are a few little wonders I found yesterday on the sidewalk. The berries are from two different plants. (Sorry I don't know their names). Birds don't bother with them so not a food source.
