Ogden Point, oil on canvas panel, 6x8', knife painting

I did this little knife painting this morning at Ogden Point. I was trying to stick to 3 primaries and white.

A day at the Beach, acrylic on canvas, 8x10

It was the most glorious day at the beach. There were a few clouds over Esquimalt but clear on our side of the water.
Lately I've been studying color theory but when I began my painting I was like a child today and the theory went out the window. Still, I think it's a charming impressionistic painting.

Pond Edge (Historical Acres, Saanich BC), oil 6x8in

I did this little oil today with the Alfrescoes at the Historical Acres in Saanich. There were lots of old tractors to paint but I felt drawn by the yellow irises at the edge of the pond.

Have I crossed the line into abstract?

June Sky in Victoria

This morning I was inspired by the gorgeous June sky. So instead of heading straight for the causeway I went to the seaside with my easel.

St Stephen's Chruch

A very quick study of St Stephen's Church today with the AlFrescoes. St Stephen's is magical with wild  flowers and lovely old trees with wild moss clinging to the branches.

Busker at the Inner Harbour

It was a warm sunny day in Victoria. The buskers  great models. I will do more of these.

Gathering kelp, 30X40 acrylic

I did this painting a few weeks ago and didn't like the left side and then gessoed over it. I did photograph it and sent it to a fellow artist but before she responded the painting was primed over.

While walking on the beach I passed these women gathering kelp and thought it would make a great painting.

I'll paint it again.

Undersea Gardens, acrylic 8x8

I did this quick little sketch at the end of the day. I caught the color of the sky with cobalt, white, and a little yellow.
