 I did this today from life. I love wild roses but they don't last long as a cut flower. The fragrance is like cloves. Intoxicating.

Sold-Montreal

I'm sorry that it's been a while since I last posted. I've been in Montreal caring for my mother since New Years Day. I put even my painting on hold so I could focus on my dear lovely mother in her final stretch in this world.
So now I'm back, unpacked, rested, and ready to paint. Yesterday was Canada Day and a friend gave me these lovely peachy pink roses.  The turquoise cloth and mason jar are favourite props I've had for years.

I thought of calling these "casual" dahlias because they're in a drinking glass rather than a vase. 

634 Plum Blossoms

The streets are lined with blossoming trees. I picked up these little plum blossoms on my way to the Empress this morning. I don't know about the purple block but I like the green pattern on the back cloth. I also like the way the blossoms turned out.
