It was such a lovely day This was the scene at Point Ellice House today. I really had to work quickly to capture this scene. The light was changing so quickly. 

510 Waterlilies, Beaver Lake Pond

This is this morning's plein air from Beaver Lake Lily Ponds. It was a real challenge to let go of my notions of what a lily pond looks like and to paint what my eyes see. Well, my interpretation anyways. It was a joy to paint. Afterwards several ducklings decided to lunch right in front of me. 

509 Holland Point

The lighting changed so dramatically throughout the painting of this little plein air. Initially it seemed like it was going to rain. It was even rather cool. But half way through the painting the sun came out and it turned out to be a scorcher. This is Holland Point and across the water is Port Angeles. 

508 Point Ellice House Garden

I did this at Point Ellice House today. It's a nice old fashioned garden, but I liked the power wires against the clear sky.  We're having a bit of a heat wave. Not that I'm complaining.

506 Fonyo Beach Day

Okay, yes this is my favourite spot. I love the curve of the beach. I also love that I can paint people in and they don't notice me doing it.   The cliffs are covered with wild gorse and sweet pea right now.
