Garden Friends, 6x8 oil on panel
I did this scene this morning in James Bay Community Garden. I used only ultramarine, cad yellow pale, cad red mid, and titanium white. I plan to do a series in this lovely garden. I will return today with another pallet.

Initially my goal was to practice color matching this morning. As the painting progressed I switched to design Comments?

Big Old Tree
This is a burnt sienna under painting. I did it out at Esquimalt Lagoon today. I attempted this same tree a few weeks ago but spoiled it when I added color. This time hopefully it'll work.

Holland Point Morning, 8x10, acrylic on canvas
I struggled with the sky. Although I saw it as having a lot of blue and not much else I felt it made the painting less harmonious than a more subdued sky.

Anderson Hill Park, 16X20, acrylic on canvas

I had trouble with everything about this painting up to the last few minutes then I decided to abandon all reason and just finish it the best I could. So I hurriedly added some quick darks and lights for contrast and it strengthened the design.

Anderson Hill, 8x10, acrylic on canvas
I was ready for today's Alfrescoe paint out. I prepared all my gear before turning in last night. Even premixed some nice grays that could be useful today.
This morning it was raining. No matter, a real artist wouldn't let a little rain stop them. Off I went to Anderson Hill.
I was the first one there. I got first dibs on a spot. I started painting. It rained. I was the only one there. I felt smug, but a little lonely. After a while another Alfrescoe "Greg" showed up. He informed me that it was Thursday and he was just checking out the spot for tomorrows painting.
Wrong day. What will I be like in 10 years.
Tomorrow I think I'll paint the Gary Oaks near the park's gateway.

I keep losing count. About a dozen pigeons enjoying a lovely winter day on my feeder.
