I painted this oil painting a few days ago and brought it to the causeway to display. The paint was still too tacky to sell yesterday but a hapless bee came by and tried to pollinate one of the yellow poppies. The poor creature got his stinger stuck in the sticky paint and would have become a permanent part of the painting. I didn't have the heart to let him perish in this way so I managed to free him with a piece of card,
