Dreamy Garden

This was yesterday's attempt completed in my studio. I don't normally like to touch a plein air after its time but in this case I felt it was too pretty to abandon.

Garden Flowers, acrylic 8x10

It was overcast this morning, but you can rely on poppies to add some high key color to the day.

Olympics, 8X10 ACRYLIC

A gorgeous morning. The Olympics were clearly visible across the water. An hour into this painting a passerby informed me I was sitting on top of an otter den. I hope I didn't frighten it.

Lavender Farm (2), 16x20 acrylic on canvas

Here's this morning's painting from lavender farms. I'm pleased with it. The artist at the end of the row is standing where I did last weeks painting from. Today I stood where the artists in last weeks painting were. I'm varnishing it and taking it to the causeway this afternoon.

lavender farm photo

Here's a photo of lavender farm from about where I was painting today.

Lavender Farm, 16x20 acrylic on canvas

Here's today's effort. A challenge in both perspective as well as color. I tried out Golden Open acrylics, which stay wet longer than regular acrylics. My pallet consisted of burnt sienna, yellow oacre, zinc and titanium white, pthalo green and blue and arylide yellow.
