Poppy Evening, acrylic, 8x10

I did this tonight in the community garden. It was quite late and the street lights were on when I finally left the garden. I painted this on a dark umber ground. There are beans growing behind the poppies. The mix of flowers and veggies in the same bed is part of the charm of this garden. Hmm maybe tomorrow I'll paint flowers with raspberries in the background. The strawberries are ripe now too.

Please excuse the poor photo. I took it tonight under the dining room lights.
This is this morning's painting modified. I straightened the reflections. There was one rather crooked one that drew my eye.

The Empress, Acrylic, 16x20

I cheated this morning and did this from a photo reference.

It was a very windy day. I painted from the only sheltered spot.

Peonies, 8x10, acrylic

I just love the alpine rock garden at Beacon Hill Park. Here's those peonies again. Many people come by to take photos of these beauties. They really give pleasure to so many. Here's my interpretation of them.

The Enchanted Garden, 24x24 acrylic on canvas

My painting in the Enchanted Garden. I just started the painting.

Me painting the Enchanted Garden

The finished painting.

I spent the entire day painting a large plein air at Beacon Hill Park. There is an alpine rock garden that so inspires me that I have done at least five paintings there so far and still plan to go back again. It is such a lovely tangled garden with nothing growing in a row. It's just enchanted.

Poppies and Peonies, oil on canvas, 8x10

I spent most of the day painting this little oil at Beacon Hill Park. It is so impasto that I think it'll take a couple of weeks to touch dry.
